HER WILD SONG offers contemplative wilderness trips and retreats
for women.
Whether canoeing in Maine, rafting in Alaska, hiking desert
canyons, or exploring other soul-enticing places, retreats with
HER WILD
SONG are much more than a vacation. While the highest quality
instruction gives participants the skills they need to enjoy
the adventure, adventure for its own sake is not our goal.
Since its inception in 1990, HER WILD SONG has been providing
women
with the unique opportunity to combine spiritual practice
with wilderness travel. We seek to come back to the real foundation
of our lives: this very Earth. Retreats with HER WILD SONG
include practices that open us to and affirm our place in the
universe.
These activities - ordinary and exquisitely simple - remind
us that we belong here, that this is our home.
Welcoming women
of
all faiths and practices, our programs draw from several
wisdom
traditions: ancient and contemporary women's myth, story,
and poetry; the insights of deep ecology; the teachings and
practices of Buddhism, Tantra, Yoga and QiGong; as well as modern
body
work systems of Body-Mind Centering and Kinetic Awareness.
Each is an invitation to move into conscious relationship
with ourselves,
each other and the Earth.

"So-this-is-a-River"
"THE River," corrected the Rat.
"And you really live by the river?
What a jolly life!"
"By it and with it and on it and in it," said
the Rat. "It's brother and sister to me, and aunts,
and company, and food and drink, and (naturally) washing.
It's my world, and I don't want any other. What it
hasn't got is not worth having, and what it doesn't
know is not worth knowing. Lord! The times we've had
together..."
